The Spirit of Giving

The holiday season is a time of year Atlantic Pacific cherishes deeply. Our company is considered a family, with many of our devoted employees having worked for us for over 20 years. Our common goals include bettering the community in as many ways as possible, to the best of our abilities.

Jayna Levins, of our Belle Glade office, helps run an organization named “Ella’s Closet” (Check out our previous article on Ella’s Closet) named after her first daughter, who passed away at only 4 months old from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. SIDS has no symptoms and gives no warning, resulting in the unexplained death of a seemingly healthy baby under a year old. The Friday before Christmas, they hosted Christmas at Ella’s Closet, where they had a party and passed out gifts to all of the kids whose mothers are a part of the program. The Belle Glade Fire Department arrived with Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the elves all in their truck!

Savannah Tardonia, our Marketing Intern, founded an organization named Adopting Belle Glade in September of 2013. Annually each Christmas,  AdoptingBelle Glade delivers 100 hygiene bags, one for each of the children of Christ Fellowship’s Belle Glade Life Center. The Life Center serves as a safe place and afterschool program where children are given the assistance they may need to do better in school, while ultimately learning about the mission of Christ. While immersed in a community that is stricken with high rates of crime, drug abuse, and unemployment, it is not uncommon to find out that many of these elementary to high school children are the ones helping raise their siblings, many of them have parents in and out of jail, and all these children want is to be loved. Many of them bounce from home to home and do not even have the basic needs we take for granted everyday. Each drawstring bag consists of toothpaste, a toothbrush, towel, comb, washcloth, 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner, bar of soap, deodorant, coloring book, and two toys. Savannah, her father and API partner, Tom Tardonia, and family attended the Life Center’s Christmas Party to deliver the bags.

Some of the Palm Beach Gardens office employees also donated to Hannah’s Home of South Florida. Hannah’s Home provides a safe and loving Christian environment for single pregnant young women. Through counseling, life skills, and continuing education, we offer hope and transform lives. Their donations were able to benefit the four new precious babies they have taken into the safe home.
